So, I've noticed that there was recently an incredibly illegal Mexican production of Wicked-- retitled Malvada-- this year. A cast recording was even issued.
I thought this thread would be interesting to discuss how often this happens, and what repercussions (if any) should be. A similar incident happened in Italy with a production of Hairspray, in which Marc Shaiman (I believe) was in attendance, and had the production shut down shortly thereafter.
Hopefully this thread doesn't break any of the rules. What are you guys' opinions on illegal productions of Wicked? Do you think there should be some leeway, or none at all?

I remember reading some posts here from a few years ago when recordings of illegal productions kept popping up on Youtube, and people were angry about it. For the live of me, I have no idea why. It has nothing to do with me, and I don't care, illegal or not. Actually, if the videos hadn't been removed, they might have been fun to watch.
