Does anyone know how to contact Jennifer Laura Thompson? I'd love to send her some fan mail because I love her so much! Does anyone know what she's currently doing? I couldn't find much info on her- I don't think she has a website, and the one I found was a tripod page that no longer existed, and I'm really interested in what happened to her.

Not really a question pertaining to the show, but next summer I'm planning on going to NY to see Wicked. I'm wanting to stay about 4 days. I was wondering if any of you that have stayed in NY have a guess-statmite of how much money I should bring?
Anyone?

It really depends on what your plans are. Say, someone who goes to New York, doesn't shop at all, and eats at McDonalds for every meal is going to spend heck a lot less than someone who buys something from every store and goes out to famous restaurants.

My mother and I are staying up there for five days and four nights, and for two people it's gonna be around $1500, but for one person it'd probably be around $800 or $900... that's booking hotels and flights together, which really IS cheaper.
Do check Travelocity, coz they were really helpful!

No, we're actually staying about a block away from the Empire State Building. The farther away from Times Square you go, the cheaper it'll be. Sad but true...

Yeah... when me, my mom and sister went we brought $900 in cash and we didn't use a lot of it- only about $600 worth- because we ate at Burger King, Fridays (that was expensive though), Chevy's and Pizza places- nothing too expensive. And we didn't buy that many souvenirs- just a couple of paintings and shot glasses. So it depends on what you're gonna do.

Yeah, when we went we stayed in Queens at the Pan American because it was only $120 a night, and it was the cheapest we could find without shared bathrooms (my sister and I are germophobes unfortunately.... we probably should have just gotten a can of lysol and dealt with it). The beds were like cement, but hey, it was cheap.

I'm trying for the lottery on the June 17th matinee in NYC. What are the odds of getting in? Like how busy is the lottery on a Saturday matinee? jw
The odds depend on how many people show up. The Wicked website says that on average, 200-400 people go for the lottery. I went 2 days in a row last week...Tuesday I went and there was about 100 people there. Wednesday afternoon I went and there was about double that. Weekends are probably more crowded, so good luck!

They start taking names for the drawing 2 1/2 hours before the show, and will promptly pick out the winners 1/2 later. So anytime before 2 hrs to showtime, you should be able to get your name in.
My friend and I think the best thing to do once you sign in is to stand closest to the front. If you get called and you're in the back, people have a tendency to not to move and let you by LOL

Good luck!
I can tell you, it takes a fair bit of luck.
When I went, I initially didn't get called as a winner, but the last person to win was a young boy who would've been separated from his family if he took the ticket, so regretfully they declined and that opened the door for me

Honestly, I think you have better luck if you go with a friend because you can both put your name in and if one of you wins, you can still both go (doubles your chance). I went by myself that afternoon and was lucky. I think asking for a single ticket gave me a better shot though, because the guy probably pulled out more tickets asking for 2 tickets than 1.

Q: I really want to write to one of my favorite actresses, Idina Menzel. When I go to Google and search, there are services where you either have to be a member or you have to pay. I don't want to do either! I just want her address. Is there a place I can get it for free?
A: Write to the New York native in care of Don Buchwald and Associates, 10 E. 44th St., New York, NY 10017. Menzel won a Tony Award as best actress in 2004 for her portrayal of Elphaba in "Wicked."

Unfortunately, it is not very likely if there is another performance that day. If the matinee performance is the only one on that day, (i.e. most Sundays) then she will most probably come out.

Question: If I send Eden the sketch my friend is making of her in a cardboard cylinder thing (hope people know what I'm talking about) - that should be fine right? I don't think I can just drop that in the mailbox so I'm probably gonna send it via priority mail. Can't think of any other way to send it... Oh and I'm including a small note and a SASE (just in case

I would recommend those manila envelopes that are insulated with bubble wrap for the drawing--slip it in there between to sheets of cardboard. You wouldn't want the drawing curled up, right?

Technically cameras are not allowed, but for some reason they don't check...I guess they go with the 'honor system'. People seem to bring in cameras and recording devices anyway because I constantly see new videos pop up on youtube.

Yeah...they never check bags, so you can sneak in just about anything, really...
And technically you're not supposed to take pictures inside the house at all, but the ushers are pretty lenient and, at most, will make a half-hearted general announcement to not take any pictures.

How good are Orchestra Row CC partial view seats?
I sat in Orch EE partial viewing seats when I first went. They're not that bad. It is a bit annoying at times because the cast always plays to the center of the stage, and you're viewing everything at a side angle. You miss some of the scene in the back, but the main action is not missed. And -- you do see their facial expressions very well and depending what side you're sitting on, you will see Kate (Glinda) and/or Eden (Elphaba) more clearly when they go to the side of the stage.

I took the advice of whoever it was that recommended that whoever was going to the Gershwin for the first time get front mezzanine seats. I got Row C seats 111 and 32. I wish I could have gotten seats together but hey, I'm seeing Wicked on Broadway! lol. Are those seats good?
