Now I want to see a show on the West End just for the ice cream. tongue.gif

That sounds great but pair that with a little starbucks and I'd be in real heaven!

^ There's a Starbucks hut just across the road from the Apollo Victoria, you could nip out in the interval and get one! wink.gif

I used to get people asking me all the time from England why we didn't sell ice cream when I worked in concessions..it would be interesting to say the least if we did

I know Wicked is BEYOND popular, but I want to know if most shows sell out. How much luck will I have if I try cancelation line?

And if people don't think it's worth the risk, should I go with a FMEZZ C23 seat or an ORCH W13 seat?

If you want full view... I'd suggest the fmezz, you see the whole show and I mean every square inch. If you want to be closer than i go with the orch seat. You may be just as far away but being downstairs usually gives the allusion that your closer even if you not. I'd rather go to the fmezz.
I did try the cancellation line 3 times and never got in. Now that it is summer and the way sales have been, I doubt you'll find a seat through someone's misfortune. You may however want to try the lotto? Hope that helps!

My niece just saw Wicked on the West End and was talking about how they sell ice cream at intermission. I laughed then remembered this thread about it...lol.

inick, there's a Starbucks right on the corner near the Gershwin. Across from the McDonald's that's there.

Thanks for the advice! I've seen the show twice, but it's been some time since I've seen it last.

I just found a left ORCH H25. Do you still think I should go with the mezz seat, or is this one better in your opinion? I also found a right ORCH J 26.

Does anyone know how partial view those orchestra seats would be?
blockhead24
Those are the best of the partial views and you really don't miss that much

I don't think Mandy or Katie have missed a show in awhile, so I'm going to assume it was Mandy/Katie.

I hope this is the right place to ask this...

Does anyone know if/when Lorna Ventura performed as Madame Morrible? (She was a swing/Morrible understudy in the OBC.)
kev379
Is Heather Spore still an understudy for Glinda? Or has she left?

I am going to be going for my first time in March/April. My parents are going along with me one of who has never seen Wicked. I wouldn't mind going with the partial-view seats seeing I have seen it 5 times and have had those seats before (with the tour), should we go with partial view with some one who has never seen it or go with another seat selection?

Heather is still an understudy but she has been out on medical leave for awhile now.

Tour partial view is a lot different from the Gershwin partial view(In the front row you are underneath part of the stage). If you do choose them go with the ones in row G or H. They are the best ones for newcomers IMO since you don't miss much and are still close enough to see facial expressions. Anything closer then row C is too close and you will miss a lot. I have sat in every partial view seat there is...

Hi I need some seat opinions.

Me and a friend flying over to NYC in April and these are our possible choices. We don't want to pay the full whack seats so going for the $130 ish seats.

ORCH EE 6&8
ORCH M 2&4

Orch M, You'll get a bigger view of the stage at a smaller price. The closer you are, with any seat, is good but being a tad back lets you see a better picture for those spectacle scenes like DG, NOMTW and OSD.

Does anyone have an idea as to how lotto is usually for January at Wicked, preferably next weekend.. Haha

How are most other show lottos/rushes during mid-January? tongue.gif

I would do loge if you want to be closer, if you would like a broader view of the stage, do the mezz. The loge is just the sides of the mezz extended out.

All the seats are good in the mezz but since the Gershwin is huge it's like you are in a different theatre. Take your binocs if you do sit up there.

I saw him and yes he wears a hideous wig as Fiyero. He is bald and I guess they don't want a bald Fiyero for some reason.

Was he good in the role?

i think its foolish to make him wear a wig, a bald fiyero could still be attractive, in many ways....if thats the problem LOL
maybe they dont want him to look "old" ? but there are plenty bald younger men..... oh well. LOL

I have never been to the Gershwin and my mom and I are embarking on our first trip in a month's time; but she tore her meniscus in 3 places and won't have the surgery until after we get back from NYC. She has problems with steps at the moment because of her leg; our seats are in the front mezzanine so the question is, is there an elevator or steps or what?

Does anyone know how crowded the lottery is usually on a Wednesday matinee?
DefyingGravity777
I would say it gets just as full as any other day. I found that Tuesday nights are the least full due to the 7pm curtain unless someone new is starting.
