I am going to New York for a concert in March, so we are on a tight schedule, so I was wondering, about how long does the Behind the Emerald Curtain tour take? I really want to go, but I have to be at rehearsal in the early afternoon.
Thanks for your help.

Why do you withhold information like that? Or better yet, why do you flaunt that know things others don't?
It honestly makes you seem a little ignorant or like you think your better than everyone else.
You probably aren't, but it would be a lot easier just to keep quiet that you know stuff like that.
Bob, I realize that may have sounded a bit rude, but I did not mean it to in any way.

I know you weren't trying to be rude, and I'm not either. I don't think it makes him seem ignorant that he didn't share. They asked if there was any word, Bob said yes there was but he couldn't share who it was. It was nice of him to let us know that they do in fact know who the new standby is. Now we can all wait in anticipation to find out who it is.

Someone said there was no word yet, so I was just saying that there was. I wasn't posting just for the sake of bragging or anything. I was just letting the person know that there is someone taking over for Saycon and it will be announced very soon. I was also holding my end of the bargain and not revealing who it is. You should be respectful in knowing that people can't just blurt out information.

can someone please tell me how to get to the stage door? I'm going to NYC for the first time in march, and I'm unfamiliar with the city, unlike Chicago. If someone wants to draw a map since I'm visual that'd be great. or you could write it out...
thanks!

As you exit the Gershwin Theatre, turn right--you'll be facing 51st. Turn left onto 51st and start walking towards 8th, and the stage door is on your left (there are usually barricades set up after the show).

Most people get their things signed at the stagedoor after a performance. Usually after a show a lot of the cast members come out and sign autographs and take pictures with fans, there is usually a crowd waiting for them. Someone posted directions to the stagedoor from the theater a few posts above.

OHHHHH haha. Sorry, blonde moment. :ha:
I think some people get it signed on the inside cover/opening page. Or if the performer has a photo in the book, you could have them sign that, I guess.

I wouldn't do it on the green part, like the very inside. That's where mine are, and some of them are a bit hard to see.
I wasn't really thinking straight considering I got my first signature in there while I was sitting on Megan Hilty's couch, so I just decided to get the rest of them there too. hahaha

I am looking for 2 tickets for a Saturday 8 o'clock performance on the 24th of Feb. It says that there are no tix left but I was wondering are they keeping some to sell as the preformance comes closer or have they released all the tix already? If someone knows that would be awesome!

you have the option of waiting and continually checking the ticketmaster website and calling ticketmaster...if you call ticketmaster they usually come up with tickets the site doesnt.
you can also wait til day of and go early in the day for cancellation tickets. a bunch of people on here have done that and gotten good seats.
MeganS
Dec 27 2006, 04:10 AM
Do they have to be next to each other? It's difficult to find two tickets together just a few months before. But if you search for one ticket at a time you might be able to get something.

The thing is I am 14 and I would be going with my cousin who is 16 so if I bought one ticket and then tried to get one more and theyy were really far away my parents wouldn't let me go. Also my parents wouldn't let me go stand in the cancellation line 3 hrs. early. I just didn't know if they weren't releasing all of the tickets yet. I will try calling ticket master tomorrow.

I also recommend doing a general search on the internet. There are other reputable sites besides Ticketmaster that sometimes have more tickets to offer. The price might be a little more, but it's worth a shot.
Also, ebay is always a great place to find tickets. I tickets for Eden's last from ebay long after the show was sold out on ticketmaster.

They know for sure if every possible availible seat in taken w/ the exception of lotto tickets- they can't get you those. Like I called on Tues. and they said absolutely nothing was availible on Wed so I'll probably be going Saturday.
Also,I have a quick question about Behind the Emerald Curtain. To get tickets do you just show up at the Gershwin and buy them at the place where you pick up your Wicked tickets? Or do you have to call or email some address? I tried the musical site for information but it didn't really answer my question. Can someone please clear things up for me?

The tour is only on Sat. at 10 am. If you go on broadway.com and there is the little pull down section at the top of the page that says select a show, click that. Then go down to wicked and underneath there is a place to click for the behind the emerald curtain thing. if you click that you can buy the tix online.

You've got it. Except I'm not sure the pictures are pre-signed in a stack, since pretty much everyone (self included) has their name on what was returned in the SASE.

Sunday will be my first time ever see the show at the Gershwin (unless we go Saturday too)
That being said... I have Orchestra Row C Seat 9... I checked it out but I would like to know if that's a good seat or not?
You know me... paranoid lol :disagree:
Charles
Jan 5 2007, 04:32 PM
Seat 9..so that's left orchestra I think, but you're not way over on a side sorta middle of the row. Mandy you'll be fine..the Gershwin is HUGE and there really aren't any bad seats in there. There are also quite a few double rows so you aren't in the third row even though it is row C, but that's actually a good thing. In my opinion where you are is perfect..I think for a show like Wicked if you're in the very front with a stage that huge it actually can make it a little tougher to see so I think where you're sitting is perfect. I've seen Wicked four times in the Gershwin, once from left orch in row X, twice from center orch around the G and H area (I don't remember exactly where) and once in right balcony, and each time was great. There really aren't any terrible seats in the Gershwin. You'll be able to see fine and you'll have a great time..and you get to see your original Elphie and Glinda again

You're gonna love it. It's like..amazing and huge hahaha. I haven't even met your first pair..I've seen Ana once and Kate three times but never saw them together. And I've never met Kate after many many attempts..including a couple of times I wasn't at the show. I went to the SD tonight after I saw Spelling Bee but no luck once again..it's horrible everytime I go there it's one of the rare times she doesn't come out..she must hate me hahaha. Anyway, umm yeah if you somehow remember tell her that Charles thinks she's very funny and wishes he got a chance to tell her that himself and wishes her good luck in the future..and Tastiskank rules hahaha..nah you don't have to say any of that I'm just kidding I know it'll be nuts. I'd come down but I'm working that day  I am however going to Kendra and Julia's first which I'm psyched about
But anyway yeah ok I don't know if anyone's told you this but yeah I figured since you're leaving tomorrow I'll tell you now the stagedoor set up..it's not a ghetto alley with weird smells like Chicago haha..let's say you're coming from the theatre..if you were to come out you'd make a right toward 51st St, make a left down 51st and the stage door is right on the other side of the little parking garage drive passage way thingy. Ok I'm rambling now haha.. have a great time!!

Yup, Julia and Kendra. You can write letters to them, as well as anyone else in the cast you wish to. When you write them, you can say that you're a Wicked fan and you hope to see them someday, blah blah blah... Brownie points if you bring up The Wild Party or Assassins or something. :ha: If you want a performer to send a signed photo back, you should include a 6x9 Self Addressed Stamped Envelope (SASE) enclosed in your main envelope. Then you just put it in the mail and wait.
