I sat in the Rear Mezz and although you're pretty far away, you can see everything perfectly and I had a great time. Also, my seat was right behind the Mid-Mezz and it was like $25 or $30 less.

What size are the pictures that Eden and Megan send out?
8X10 i think...or at least that's the size of the envelope
Megan's was a 5 x 7. Not sure about Eden.

Okay. So I know that an SASE is a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope...but I think I just realized what that means. lol. You don't mean like a regular letter envelope do you? You mean like a manilla envelope? If so, then I should probably re-send my mail. lol. Hopefully that made sense.

I have always sent mine in a regular envelope and got replies from 3 already. All 3 replied back to me in manilla envelopes. I think as long as you include a SASE they are likely to reply back. Hope that helps.

Out of curiousity, what's the general consensus on what the decent seats are at the Gershwin? I know it's sometimes a matter of personal taste, but...
I mean, I sat front row was to the left at the tour in Philly. Couldn't always see the backdrops or anything on the extreme left side of the stage, but I adored it beyond belief. The Gershwin's stage is set higher than the Academy's, though, so I'm not so sure close is better there.

ive literally sat all around that theater....from front row side, to front row center, to in the back of the the orch, to mid orch, to front mezz, to the lights of the mezz .....my suggestion for a first time person in the gershwin.....front mezz....it doesnt give you the "quality closeness" to the actors...but it gives you the view that is AMAZING....you see the entirity(sp? HAH) of the show....you see everything and you dont just focus in on one persons face or what have you....its one thing if you know a person personally and want them to see you and all that...but thats my opinion on seating in the gershwin....but overall all seats are decently good.....it doesnt have the major cut off side seats like philly and boston does....the partial views are still technically orchestra

How are the orch. seats that are under the mezz overhang? The mezz overhangs the orch. starting at a certain row... right?

I really enjoyed my seats that I had Friday. They were PV, and I missed only when Elphaba was at the top of the stairs, and the students heads blocked the lion cub. But I knew what was happening, and we were so close that you could see EVERY expression, it was so worth it.

mezz overhangs over row m or n....either o....they dont really ruin views....its really your opinion on what your going for....facial expressions or overall viewing

And trust you I shall.
What can I say? I'm not used to all-around good seating. I'm accustomed to the Philadelphia Academy of Music, where countless seats are... kinda horrible. Well, not REALLY horrible. But decently bad. Oy.
Thank you very much, though. :-)

Quick question. I'm wanting to go to New York next summer. How far in advance should I order my tickets to Wicked?
ilovemegan
Jun 1 2006, 07:00 PM
seats: for both times i have seeen the show i sat right orchestra row c ( i think? are there cc for rorchestra) , i sat in 2!! It was REALLY god viewing especially when the actors are on the stage left clock panel thats like farther out
tickets: we ordered our tickets less than a month before the show and got tose seats BOTH time however we use the actors fund so they are a bit cheaper, theres a member fee ( i think) and there are always 2 seats reserved for most shows on broadway and those just happened to be their seats
writing megan: from what i know i think they will forward it to her

Question--how are the double-lettered rows set up in the front mezz? I was looking at the seating chart but it doesn't make much sense. Obviously they're in front of front mezz row A because they're on a curve but... I'm just a little bit confused. Typical.

no the 1st level is even w/ the stage and its called Orchestra, the 2nd level is called Mezzanine and if there is a 3rd level its called Balcony. I've sat in Orchestra and Balcony, and balcony REALLY sucks.

Nessarose is probably talking about another theatre, in which there was a mezzanine and a balcony (the balcony being the third level up). Officially, the Gershwin has only a mezzanine, though in reality a mezzanine technically
is a "balcony." It's just named differently (and in the Gersh, the seating is fine in the mezz).
This probably seems really confusing. :ha:

I believe the normal size of an envelope is 8x10 (correct me if I'm wrong), and just fold another one, with postage and filled out with your name, address, etc. and stick it in the envelope. I use 2 stamps, but I don't know if it depends on where you live.
