Where do I write to Broadway cast members?
CAST MEMBER'S NAME
Gershwin Theatre Stage Door
c/o Wicked
242 West 51st Street
New York, NY 10019
What is a SASE? Do I have to send one? How big should it be? How much do I have to spend in postage?
Self Addressed Stamped Envelope. You should send one with your letter as a) it is common courtesy and
For most Broadway performers, the pictures they send back are 5 inches by 7 inches long. However, there are some cases when an actor transfers from another company that uses different sizes, such as Julia and Kendra on tour (their photos are 6 inches by 9 inches), or headshots (which are usually 8.5 by 11). When in doubt, send a 9 by 12 mailer, as they won't send anything larger than that.
What happens if I write to Wicked Headquarters?/What is "Wicked LLC?"
If you don't really know who to write to but would like to send a message to the cast/crew in general, there are two ways of going about this. You can either send it to the Gershwin Theatre (use the above address) addressed to the Cast and Crew of Wicked, or you can write to the following address:
WICKED
Wicked LLC
321 W. 44th Street, Suite #801
New York, NY 10036
This address is for the Wicked "headquarters" in New York. If you request it, they will often send you back some goodies, such as a letter, a Playbill signed by the cast, and autographed pictures of some current cast members. A SASE is not needed, but still recommended when writing to Wicked LLC. Currently, the LLC is only known to provide items from the Broadway cast.
It's been a few weeks since I sent my letter and haven't gotten a response. Should I resend?
Be patient! A few weeks is really not that much time. The Wicked cast is known to be quick with their mail, but each of them has a different system when writing their responses, and you may not get yours immediately. Some people have waited several months for their mail to come back. If you truly think it's been too long, then it might be a good idea to resend. A good way of verifying this is by seeing if someone else has gotten a response from this cast member, and if that person sent their letter long after you sent yours.
