Miss Glinda
I have definitely lost interest. I will always love Wicked and everything, but I haven't listened to the OBCR in probably about a year, with the exception of the last 2 minutes of DG to point out gasping, NGD to try and find emotion, and DTL to hear Norby's gorgeous voice. But those three songs were listened to months and months ago. Also, since Megan and then Eden left broadway, I haven't wanted to see the new casts. If DeCicco comes to broadway, or even a new face, I will be first on line for the lottery. Maybe that will be what it takes to revive my desire to see it again on Broadway and such.

Wicked, I love, but just the obsession about it caused me to lose interest. I found other shows that I enjoy much more, one being Drowsy Chaperone, and the other the revival of Les Mis.
Charzard
I only had the chance of seeing it while it was in Toronto so of course while it was here, I went crazy with it! I don't know if I'd ever "lose interest" or stopped loving. All I know is I haven't. Changed for good, guys, changed for good. XD
aeplayer829
I really do wanna say no but when I was obsessed with Rent I saw the show and then I wasn't obsessed anymore. I'm scared that once I see Wicked I wont like it anymore.
Idina*and*I
I don't think I could ever lose interest. The scary thing is, I am more obsessed with it now than I was before. I mean I traveled half-way across the world to see the show because Idina was in it. So, I don't see it happening anytime soon.
Wickedly*Defying*Gravity
Nope, i will never lose interest.....Wicked is in me forever.....i'm loving it more and more everyday!
Johnny
I dont think I will ever lose interest because Wicked
is what made me become obsessed with acting and singing.
Will
I do love it, but I do think if i see it exsessive times with the same cast i will start to sit through the show with a lack of emotion on my face, quiet a contrast to how i watch it now...but i do believe with exsessive the same cast i would start to not want to see it...
crystalfairie
I still care about Wicked greatly and I'll never lose interest in it, but I'll probably never get overly excited and obsess about it as much as I used to. It has given me a great deal of confidence in myself/taught me to believe in myself. I still listen to the OBCR etc.
Emma H
I don't think I'll ever lose interest in it, but even if I did(which is highly unlikely) I will always have a soft spot for it because it's what got me into theatre more and I've made some great friends through it
elphabafanatic15
No, I don't think I'll ever not like it. I mean, it has a special place in my heart and it's almost therapy- getting away from things that bother me for 3 hours. If I ever did lose interest, I'd be surprised. I dont think I'll need to see it every 4 months, but ya know, what happens, happens!
Arduenna
I won't always be obsessive about Wicked. I'll always love it, but I'll make way for a new show to obsess about, just like I've done before. I was obsessed with Phantom before I was with Wicked, then obsessed wtih RENT, then Wickd again, and now I'm becoming obsessed with Les MIs, and my interest in Phantom is growing. I'll probably go back to Wicked someday, and it will always have a place in my heart.
Nessarose
Well I used to be totally in love with Wicked, I found out I love Tarzan more now. So I still like Wicked but not as much.
Cierra
I'm not obssesed with it anymore, but I still love it. I don't think I ever NOT like it, but there will be other shows that I will like more. I mean, I already like A Chorus Line more. I really do need to see more Bway shows....

My best friend has kinda lost her intrest in Wicked...could that ever happen 2 u? one word for me...Heck no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Heck no" is two words :lol1:
WICKEDlover159
I have. I saw it, which was fun, but I don't listen to it any more, or look at my Grimmerie, etc. Occasionally it's fun, but I've been 'on it' for so long that it's old now.
thegreengirl3
i could never loose my interest in wicked. sometimes i go through stages, like right before i saw it the first time with sjb and kendra, i stopped listeing to the cd, but right after i saw it, i became obsessed with it. and i was also obsessed with wicked before i saw eden in LA, but after i saw her, i just went nuts with it. like i have a hard time going through one day without mentioning eden, megan, idina or something about wicked. its also the fact that wicked is such a big part of my life, that something would be missing if i lost my iterest. is that weird? idk, its true anyway.

I already have, sadly. Not totally, but enough. I'll see it for the cast (Stephanie, Maria, Megan, Julie, Shoshana), and I still enjoy it occasionally, but I don't have the dire need to trek around after it anymore. The cast recording gets on my nerves now; not sure if it's pure overdose or I'm just not used to Idina anymore.
Wickedfan18
i love wicked soooo much.....i always loved musical theater..but since i saw wicked is really what started my going in every month to see a show or 2...as much and i LOVE wicked i have seen in my opion better shows...i think i only like wicked cuz it has to do with the Wizard of oz and that is like my movie...so if i did not like that i would not like wicked....but i mean it is still amazing....
kiwiholly
Yes, probably eventually, I'll always be a fan, but I'll probably find shows I like more.
rparker91
While I still enjoy Wicked, it is no longer one of my favourite musicals. The score doesn't thrill me as it used to. Perhaps I would regain interest if I saw the show another time, which I do plan on doing this summer.

The only show that I have never lost interest in is The Phantom of the Opera. I fell in love with the show when I was in grade four. I just finished my sophomore year in high school, and the score still moves me the way it did when I first heard it.

haha it's the same thing for me.
I love Wicked, but I see it for the cast - not because I am in absolutly in love with it. I'm happy I lost my obsession over it, because I like Wicked, but I don't feel the need to listen to it every second of the day or constantly mention it.

My thoughts exactly. I've moved on.
WICKED COOL xx
Well, after I saw the show I was like MAJORLY OBSESSED. Then I got older and sort of grew out of it and started to like RENT a lot. I have Wicked spazzes once in awhile, but I don't go CRAZY.
DancingThroughLifex13
NO!!!!!!!!!! i'll run around the streets confessing my love to fiyero/boq.and wicked.i constantly use confusifing,i recite as long as you're mine to the dog, heck i only basicly talk 'bout wicked! and i act like a blonde (i have nessarose's brown hair)
elphabafanatic15
I think I will move on from Wicked, but I think it will always have a place in my heart. I really do love it, and it's a thrill when I see it everytime...but I think by the time I am 30, I probably wont be seeing it 5 times a year. :ha:
Elphaba=idinashoshanaeden
I've moved on, but as said above, it does have a special place in my heart.
wicked1
I've already lost interest. I will always like the show, however the obsession/love I had for it is gone. It's no longer one of my favorite shows and I don't feel I have to see it everytime it is within 200 miles of me.
wickedcaster1
between times that i see wicked i will lose interest a little bit but not that much. But when i see it again, I'm wickedly freakin' obsessed
trekkie monster
well, i recently saw wicked for the second time, and i still LOVE the show, but it wasnt nearly as magical as before. in every aspect of it.

The first time i saw the show, i won the lottery and i was front row centre to the full LA cast, no replacements.

This recent second time, i didnt win the lottery and we had seats in the VERY last row of the mezzanine. I dont know if they like squished the last row into there, but i had NO knee/legroom. i am a tall person (like 6' 3" ish) and my knees didnt fit, and i hit the seat ahead of me. Alexander selma was on as boq this time, and he was good, but i thought his voice was a little too deep for little munchkin boq. Laso, i went to the stagedoor, and chris was the only friendly one. Jenna was very spaced out and after i said a couple things to her (you were great tonight etc..) she just kinda looked at me and said great...
when megan was about to sign my playbill, someone grabbed her from behind and she had to go take pictures with a security guard's daughter/friends etc. and that took like 5 minutes and when she came back, she missed me! so i kinda called her back and she didnt seem too happy. she was very out of it but i took a picture with her anyways.

now i know its not their responsibilty to be golden personalities at the stage door, but with everything i read about them all being so nice at the stagedoor, i guess i was expecting more, so it kinda ruined the magic for me. and from what i heard though, megan was out a show or two afetr i saw her, so i guess this was right before she took the time off..

i think i will eventually lose my major interest in wicked, but itll just go into my collection of stuff i like, but am sick of, but i love it anwyays! and when im married and wicked is still touring or playing somewhere, i will definately make a point to see it any chance i get!

I want to post an honest opinion. I've always gone through "stage-obsessions", but "Wicked" and musical theater are two I've held the longest. Wicked will always hold a special place in my heart, and I get more of a thrill seeing the show live than being forced to listen to the cast recording. I love it, and still relate to the story, book, music, and lyrics, in so many ways. I will always love it, but I can't predict it will be an obsession forever - let's be honest. Musical theater I will always flat out love. There are so many ways to tell a story, and Broadway is one of the more brilliant ways. I always get a thrill when music of a show strikes that opening chord - I credit the show "Wicked" for these amazing feelings. What I did is get into more and more shows and movie!musicals, and recently, I listened to the cast recording for ignoring it for about three months and it was like discovering it all over again. The feeling of shock, amazement of the music and lyrics, etc. I was reminded of. Is Wicked like, ZOMG, the best show in the world? No - I don't think you're a real fan of theater if you're not willing to admit that even your favorite show has just a fffeeewww things you'd like to see change - but the feeling that went up my spine when Julia Murney/Brandi Chavonne Massey went up at the end of Defying Gravity the first two times I saw Wicked will never, ever be replaced, even if I do find a new "obsession".

This stupidly "profound" paragraphs ends NOW - tongue.gif
AsLongAsI'mYours
I think I've answered this before, but I'll say it again. Will I always love the show? Yes. Will there be a day when I'm not obsessed anymore? Yes.

I'm not saying I'm going to hit a point where I dislike it. Defying Gravity will probably always give me a chill. If I have an oppourtunity to see it, I will. But I really don't think ten years from now I'm still going to be desperate to stage door and lotto-ing tickets.
Jessie
I will never forget Wicked. I may listen to my Wicked soundtrack a little less as years go on, but I will never forget seeing Wicked. I mean seeing it in LA has led me to so many things. I've met Amanda Flynn through Wicked and she's the best role model for me and we keep in contact obviously for the fan page. She introduced me to the Wicked LA stage managers which was a night that changed me forever...and for good wink.gif. I want to be a stage manager for a Broadway show and certainly when I reach that goal I will think back to the day(s) that first started me on my career path at Pantages with Wicked.

So I guess technically I would lose interest, but not love, for Wicked. It will always have a special place in my heart along with all the people I have been lucky to meet through Wicked. smile.gif I think it's healthy to take a break from blasting DG on my ipod....but I will probably always have AT LEAST one Wicked song on my ipod....maybe 4....or the whole soundtrack. haha smile.gif Nothing can replace Wicked for me.

I can surely find other amazing musicals that interest me, but Wicked will always have that place in my heart. There will be times where I will skip Popular on my ipod, but there will always be days where I put the song on repeat when I need a perky song smile.gif And I will probably go see Wicked every now and then when I get a chance, but I won't lotto every chance I get or beg my parents to take me and spend a small fortune to go to NYC or LA every month. When that time comes, I'll probably have more money because I'm not buying Wicked tickets and plane tickets. haha. For now, I'm enjoying my love (and obsession haha) for Wicked. And I can't wait to go to NYC in 09...and possibly next spring break smile.gif and when I go, maybe I can find another musical that affects me like Wicked does.

When I got to New York for a week, you can just guess which musical I will be seeing first wink.gif
and multiple times after that haha.
greenismyfavcolor
I think that though I might lose some interest in it (and the day Megan Hilty leaves the show won't seem like the end of the world), it will still always hold a place in my heart. Or rather, it'll be with me like a handprint on my heart. (You knew that was coming)
I love the story, the idea of it, I think it will stick with me, even if it starts to get old.
It's part of the magic of the show.
ennaxor
It's honestly too early for me to tell. I only became a fan when I saw the show a little over a month ago. Since then I've pretty much been obsessing over it, listening to the soundtrack over and over, browsing Wicked forums, I went to Wicked Day today in London... I'm seeing it again when a couple friends visit in a couple weeks. I know I won't stay this obsessed forever, but I'm not sure how strong my interest will stay.

I remember way back in elementary school I loved the Baby-Sitter's Club books for a few years, and couldn't imagine ever stopping, and then I did. More recently there have been tv shows that I obsessed over for a while, and now don't really care so much for. On the other hand I've been a big Harry Potter fan for over 8 years now, and am still going strong. Plus I have a few tv shows that I've passed through the obsessing stage for, but still greatly enjoy them and am always up for watching. So I hope I'll maintain my interest in Wicked, but really who knows what will happen.
Idina*and*I
As sad as it is and I never thought I would say it, but yes and it is already happening. I have seen the show (a mere to some) 10 times and I find my mind wandering and it isn't as special as it once was. So I have decided to take a break and not see the show until next year with Caissie in LA.
Elphaba_Fae
will i ever COMPLETELY lose interest, no.. but my interest is fading.. probably because i know i won't get to see it live anytime soon, though.. i might not ever get to see it live.. but i will never completely lose interest in Wicked.. but i am still in obsession mode right now.. will be for some time, actually.. takes a while for me to get out of obsession mode..

I think you'll find it's easy to lapse out of an obsession if you over-obsess.
Hide your cast recording, your novel, SOAW, the Grimmerie, whatever Wicked material you have, stop reading fan fiction, just for awhile. You'll be surprised.
emeraldCITYzen
Yes, agree with Greenismyfavcolor. That happened to me... very over-obsessed, got out of it for awhile, now just very very into it.

Into it and obsessed is a huge difference!
Chenzel
Wicked will always be very dear and close to my heart and I will always be interested in the music and beautiful story but I am not obsessed as I used to be. I've seen the show 5 times already and I dont know when I will see the show again. But, I still love the show very much.
GA-linda
NO! I will never lose my interest in wicked! I love wicked! biggrin.gif
gncurrier
I am so much less interested now than last year! I still listen to the songs when my iPod brings them up on shuffle, and I still sometimes do the pink and green thing, but it's just a general notice and a small smile when I see them, not like, OMG! Pink and green! I'm not constanly talking about it (although if I see the show live for the first time in April, I'll prob. be a but nuts for a few weeks afterwords)

After a year, and listening to the show, ya know...I'm starting to think the book's kinda weak, but I'll always love the score, and it'll always be special to me.

^^ Oh how things change.

Now I barely listen to the CR. I still check Youtube to see the latest stuff and I come on here to look for news, but I definitely am not nearly as interested as I once was.

Now if Idina or the Dalli were still in the show it might be a different story.

Its so funny to read this thread. In the beginning everyone's like "HECK NO!!" and then on the next page the same people are quoting themselves saying that their opinion has changed. =P

Mine remains the same. I am not utterly obsessed, crazy like I was before. But I do love Wicked very much. Its not in the way that it used to be, where I need to see it every other week. But now its more of a sentimental thing. It changed my life (for the better...hehe), and it made me realize that I get more joy when I'm performing than anything else in the world, and it introduced me to Broadway and theater in general, which I believe is my calling and what I'm supposed to do.
Wickedly*Defying*Gravity
I'll ALWAYS love it, but i will be less obbsessed in the future. But it will always be my fav show and i will always love it!

wow, its the same with me. I always knew I wanted to be a performer, but I never knew what type of performing. then, Wicked came along and I'm like "I wanna do that." and then I started looking up other random musicals and found other parts I would love to do. though some are out of my reach because of the high range they require.

I'm actually loseing intrest. I think I wore it out. I'm trying to stay away form it so when I see it in August it will be liek the first time again.

I'm doing that too.
So when I see it, I'll get goosebumps again! biggrin.gif

WICKED is always gonna own a place in my heart. I might not be seeing as much in like 5 years but I will definalty see it when I have a vacation or something. WICKED can be compared to The Wizard of Oz. Its timeless almost. The message can be told over and over, and people will always have a place for it.
