Adam
just get used to your controls, there will be a "MODERATE THIS FORUM" option on the bottom as well as edit buttons that weren't there before... now you can chat in the staff forum, so lets keep these conversations there. play around, see what does what.
galephie
You have powers now Elphie:D
Beautifully Tragic
But make sure to only use them for good!
elphie_chick
And i didn't even need to say

Eleka nahmen nahmen
Ah tum ah tum eleka nahmen

smile.gif
Of course i will i wouldn't have it any other way!!!
galephie

*pops bubble with finger*
Beautifully Tragic
I dunno, I like this spell better:

Ambulahndahre pahto pahpoot
Ambulahndasca Caldapess
Laufenahto Laufenahtum
Pede pede Caldapess

I'd rather enchant a pair of silver shoes than change someone into a scarecrow. Less likely to get a bucket of water thrown at you.

EDIT: I corrected the spell. :goodwitch:
elphie_chick
Very true......I forgot about the changing into a scarecrow as a side effect of of Eleka nahmen nahmen.......Opps how blonde!!!
galephie
If u had to be a lion or a scarcrow or a tin man which would you be?
elphie_chick
I think the lion i would rather be cowardly than worrying about rusting or being set alight !!!
Beautifully Tragic
Scarecrow, cause then I wouldn't have to be smart. Plus scarecrows are cooler and they get the green girl. Ok, that came out wrong...
galephie
Lion u'd be cuddly,Scarcrow u'd be funky, and tin man u'd be shiny hard choice
elphie_chick
Lol

~But wouldn't you worry about being set on fire or setting yourself on fire????

Thats sounds rather random and wrong!!
Beautifully Tragic
True, but at least it wouldn't be painful.
galephie
tin man could melt he might not be real tin
Tragically Beautiful
Yes, but being shocked by plugging in a computer is so much fun....
elphie_chick
That is very true!!

I take it your a big fan of fiyero's!!

Actully i think the character is great!! and well worth a standing ovation!!
Beautifully Tragic
I'm more a Elphie-Fiyero fan. I just love their relationship. I like the book Fiyero better than the musical Fiyero but I guess because I like him in the book it kinda carries over to the musical... I dunno, I guess I do like Fiyero.
galephie
hehe
Oatsie
Now, I'm new - and just about finished with the book (maybe 20 pages left) but you all seem quite taken with the musical. Did the story carry over well into play form? You're all obviously big fans, but how is the play compared to the book?
lessthanthree
Welcome!

They fluffed up the musical a lot more! haha. so it would be a family show.

they are really different, but i loved them both
Adam
welcome oatsie, glad you could make it. You'll have lots of fun with us here :-)

Yeah, the musical is much more cheery and fun, and boy is it ever fun!!!!!!
Beautifully Tragic
As I like to say, the musical was Disney-fied. Basically, they took a really dark story with a sad ending and tried to make it a little less dark and gave it a happy ending.
Oatsie
Thanks for the welcome! The book was rather dark - but really great. I wasn't sure how the play (especially a musical) came out of that transistion. It definately sounds fun. Have any of you checked out or posted on the Gregory Mcguire site/message boards? I'd like to know your opinion, if you have.
Adam
sure, most of us have posted at Gregory Maguire boards.

I prefer here, because:

1. I own these so I can do whatever I want :-)

2. It's nice to get quick responses to your posts, Its kinda slow at GMBoards

3. I can do whatever I want :-)

4. If someone doesn't like something, I can change it and do whatever they want. Hence the Media Exchange board. Most Wicked boards concider them illegal, and inviting to trouble, but I haven't had that impression YET. Maybe in the future, they'll have to come down.

BTW: you're not too old to do cool halloween stuff, so what are you dressing up as for halloween Oatsie?
Oatsie
Hmmmm...this is all foreign to me - I feel very message board UN-savvy. "Media-exchange" boards? And why would other Wicked boards consider them illegal?
As for Halloween - I have 3 life-sucking children that Halloween has more or less centered around for the last 15 years. But they are getting older, and I probably don't have many of the Halloweens left that I must
a) find them a costume that they will be happy with long enough to get out the door
cool.gif usher them to as many candy-giving houses as their little legs will carry them (my youngest is in a wheelchair, so she has a nice, relaxing evening)
c) get the costumes put into the big Halloween Archives box to be pawed through new year to do it all over again.
Adam
heh, sounds like fun.... but since you are going with them trick or treating, you might as well make it fun for you!!

dress your youngest up like nessarose!

oh well.. sounds like a lot of work to me!
ElphieFabalaFae
Awww you guys are making me wanna go to a Halloween party, but alas I don't belong to anything or know anyone having one - maybe next year! At least we wont get anyone knocking on our door this year! Most of the houses around me are empty, 10 are still being built! lol
Oatsie
Ha...you've seen through my veiled attempt to disguise this holiday as anything other than a pain in the A.
Oatsie
I would like to (once I can just stay home for Halloween) do the "haunted house" thing and try to scare the heck out of the neighborhood kids. My husband and I have had fun decorating the yard in the past. We do a pretty good graveyard.
ElphieFabalaFae
It's so weird how you guys take it all soo seriously and go to such lengths. You'll be lucky these days if people over here carve a pumpkin, let alone decorate an entire house/garden!
elphie_chick
I am going all out for this halloween i am going green!!! Proper Green it's great and also i have been invited to a halloween party on the waterfront and i shall be green.!!
Oatsie
Oh, you wouldn't BELEIVE!! We usually go to my parent's neighborhood because of the actual DEDICATION this place has - every house decorated with tons of animated junk, zillions of ankle-biters running around ....
